CURALEAF NEW YORK TO HOST FREE MEDICAL CANNABIS INFO SESSION FOR CANCER PATIENTS, SURVIVORS AND CAREGIVERS

Educational Session Will Discuss New York’s Medical Marijuana Program and How Medical Cannabis is Already Providing Many Cancer Patients with Better Quality of Life

 

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Curaleaf New York will host a Cannabis 101 educational seminar next week to provide local cancer patients, survivors and caregivers with important information about New York State’s medical marijuana program and what it offers for patients across the city. Curaleaf is hosting the event at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5 at its medical cannabis dispensary in Forest Hills, Queens.

“Medical cannabis is already providing much-needed relief for tens of thousands of patients suffering from chronic pain, cancer and other conditions across New York,” said Michelle Bodner, CEO of Curaleaf New York. “We’re proud to work with the patient and caregiver communities to deliver important information about the state’s medical marijuana program and the high-quality treatment options provided by experts here at our dispensary.”

The educational session is free to attend and will be led by Lanett Austin, Curaleaf’s Community Outreach Manager, and Stacia Woodcock, PharmD, Curaleaf’s Practitioner Outreach Liaison. At the session, Austin and Woodcock will discuss the benefits of medical cannabis for cancer patients and survivors, provide important information about medical cannabis products and the regulations of New York state’s program and review the steps for enrolling in the program. Lunch will be served to all participants.
